Enabling moderated comments due to spam

by Svelmoe 26. July 2009 18:06

Some time ago Google announced more insight in how the nofollow attribute worked, and since then I’ve received an explosion in comment spam.

So now I’ve taken the liberty of enabling moderating of comments, to stem up against this inrease in spams - too bad people have to ruin it for others.
Funnily enough some of these spamming idiots have the gall to put “nospam” in as e-mail address ….. so I guess spam is an issue for them as well.

With any luck, moderated comments will just be temporary, but well – it never hurt anybody to wait a little while with putting a comment on-line.

Moving SQL entries

by Svelmoe 2. February 2009 17:25

I'm now in the process of moving all my SQL entries to the new site: www.sqlstuff.dk will be where I onwards post new SQL related stuff (duh) and it will be removed from here. The category will still exists for a period of time, mainly due to keeping response code 301 integrity - but the posts will only exists on the new url.

Getting a taste for blogging

by Svelmoe 1. February 2009 15:38

Well, it seems that I've started to develop a little more of a taste for blogging, but finding it constraining to have both my professional(-ish) blog posts combined with my "real life" posts.
This means I've had to judge much more to avoid having my profesional opinion tainted by my private - well, not really :)

But when I started it was just my perspective that I wanted to use this as a means of collecting experiences for myself in an easy to get to position, but seeing as I've blogged quite a bit about SQL it seemed fitting that I started to move those posts and that topic to another more dedicated website/blog.

So over the next period of time (hopefully not too long, depends on how fast I can get a 301 redirect set up for specific posts), I'll migrate the SQL posts to another website, and start blogging more "personally" and opinionated here, while keeping my other blogs purely about SQL (for now).
It'll be interesting to see if I can step up blogging as well with a more clear diversion between the two.
At the same time, I've decided to take a look at Twitter, but mostly for fun. So I'll try to keep that feed up as well.

Thus, I appologize in advance for any dead links, but I'll try to move the posts and set up 301 redirect as to not loose search engine directs and possible bookmarks. It also means the categories will be reworked a bit on this site, and the blog tags of course will be affected as I move posts to the other site.

The URL of my SQL website will be mentioned once I get posts over there and 301 set up. Until then I'm keeping it "not so big" a secret :D
